ZHU Ying

Artist Profile

Born in 1920 in Zhejiang Province, Zhu Ying studied both East and West art under the instruction of Lin Fengmian, Wu Dayu, Fang Ganmin, Cai Weilian, Li Chaoshi and Pan Tianshou and graduated in 1940 from Western Art Department of National Art College. Currently a professor of Architecture and Design College of Tongji University, he was also invited to be art consultant for Jiaotong University. In 1988, he staged touring solo exhibitions upon invitation from U.S. In the following year, his name was compiled into Famous People published in U.S. Meanwhile, the artist was awarded with certificate of "Excellent Artist". His works were displayed in his solo exhibition in Cologne City Hall in 1993. The artist himself was prized with "Achievement Award of 20th Century". His oil painting Victory Belonging to the Homeland and Camellia were selected into the 2nd National Art Exhibition. And the publication featuring the artist includes Work Selection of Zhu Ying.
